This technology was born out of UW-Madison and will be the first of its kind on the market.Half of all electricity globally is consumed by electric motors. C-Motive’s patented electrostatic motor technology delivers 90%+ efficiency, uses no rare-earth metals, less than 5% the copper, and has the potential to deliver over a gigaton of carbon savings in the next decade.We are seeking the next great talent to add to our team. Electrical EngineerYou cannot improve what you don’t measure, and C-Motive’s electrostatic motor is no different. Because nothing in the world looks quite like it we must engineer our own systems and test protocols to push designs to the limits.This role is cross-functional, working closely with technical leadership as well as the mechanical and chemical teams to test components, subsystems, full motors, and power electronics. Generating reliable and comprehensive data is crucial to informing the decisions necessary for continued product development. It is expected that this role works well within a team and is self-motivated. Prior start-up company experience is a plus, but not required. We are looking for someone that enjoys tackling day-to-day challenges, enjoys hands-on work, is highly organized, and takes pride in delivering results. What you will doDevelop custom electromechanical fixtures and procedures for prototype power electronic converters for electrostatic drives. Including AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC converters and inverters.Develop test procedures and operate dynamometers for motor testing .Establish and operate an equipment and sensor calibration program including, but not limited to, torque, speed, temperature sensors as well as in-house developed component and sub-system level test equipment.Develop test requirements per specifications during design phase of new products. Prepare efficient test procedures from test specifications.Develop specifications and RFQs for new equipment purchases.Provide advice for improving current testing methods.Perform basic electrical component assembly as needed. QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software.Experience programming and interfacing electronic test equipment.Experience creating designs and tools that interface software, electrical, and mechanical parts.Experience using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, impedance analyzers and other electrical test equipment.Experience with dynamometers, electric motors, and drives.Prepare and maintain a variety of test plans and test reports.Printed circuit board soldering and rework experience.Bonus QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience running dynamometers and partial discharge analyzers is a strong plus.Experience working with high voltage electrical equipment and an understanding of electrical shock hazards.Programming experience in Python, C, and C++, for data analysis and embedded systems About C-MotiveC-Motive is committed to equitable compensation and we offer a generous benefits package to make sure you have the support you need.
