Position Overview
The Grocery Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the department manager with all aspects of daily operations and activities of the department. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality, freshness and product assortment is maintained throughout the grocery department(s). This person will be receiving, stocking and rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, training new associates and providing exceptional customer service.

Follows established departmental and store policies and proceduresAssists the Grocery Manager with the successful operation of the departmentEnsures the quality and freshness of all products and services providedResponsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the departmentReceives, stores and stocks a wide variety of productsOrders product to meet the needs of the grocery departments based on past and projected salesPulls out of date product from the shelvesEnsures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintainedTeaches, mentors and educates associates to help them be successful members of the teamPerforms other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store ManagerConsistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendorsTravel Required:No
