Job Summary
As an Automotive Express Technician – Tier 1 (AET I), you will learn to perform Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) snapshots, oil changes, wiper replacements, engine air filter replacements, Engine Performance Restoration (EPR) and Motor Oil Additive (MOA) services, vehicle transportation for Fleet customers, as well as providing shuttle rides for our valued customers. This entry-level position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and training in various automotive maintenance tasks. Role and Responsibilities
Car Count: Assist team with achieving a daily service target of at least 20 serviced units in the Express Oil Service Center.Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) Snapshots: Under the guidance of experienced technicians, assist in performing digital vehicle inspections to document and assess the condition of various vehicle components and systems.Oil Changes: Learn to perform oil changes following manufacturer specifications and guidelines to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of customer vehicles.Wiper Replacements: Assist in inspecting and replacing windshield wipers for optimal visibility during inclement weather.Engine Air Filter Replacements: Learn to inspect and replace engine air filters to maintain proper engine performance and fuel efficiency.EPR/MOA Services: Under supervision, participate in Engine Performance Restoration (EPR) and Motor Oil Additive (MOA) services to improve vehicle performance and longevity.Vehicle Transportation for Fleet Customers: Assist in safely transporting fleet vehicles to and from the service center, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.Customer Shuttle Rides: Provide shuttle rides for customers to and from the service center when needed, ensuring a positive and courteous experience.Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the work area, service bays, and customer shuttle vehicles clean and organized for a safe and pleasant environment.Tool and Equipment Management: Learn proper usage and maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery related to automotive service.Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines when handling tools, chemicals, and equipment.Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate service records, inspection reports, and DVI snapshots.Continuing Education: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills in automotive maintenance.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of automotive systems and a keen interest in cars and automotive technology.Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy objects, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.Attention to Detail: Ability to learn and execute tasks with precision and accuracy to ensure the safety and optimal performance of customer vehicles.Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to acquire new knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and educational resources.Customer-Focused: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when providing shuttle rides and interacting with customers.Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license, with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Review.Safety-Conscious: Commitment to adhering to all safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment.Automotive Enthusiast: A genuine passion for cars and an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive service industry.ASE Certifications: Although not mandatory, any relevant ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications would be considered a plus.Previous Experience: While prior experience is not required, any exposure to automotive maintenance or repair is beneficial.Problem-Solving Skills: A natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving will be advantageous in this role.
