Job Description And Duties

RADD is responsible for working with information services (technology) and program partners throughout the data life cycle to ensure best practices are elevated toward the goal of serving Californiaβs most vulnerable families, using a human-centered and data-driven approach.
The Research, Automation, and Data Division is seeking a motivated, organized, multitasking, team player to join us as a Staff Services Manager I Specialist (SSM I Sp). Under the general direction of the Assistant Deputy Director, the SSM I Specialist will work independently, as well as with RADD staff on project management, process improvement, and interoperability for the Division. This includes planning, execution and monitoring, and project delivery utilizing project management techniques and software.

Special Requirements A statement of qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted with the state application to be considered for an interview. Resumes and letters of introduction do not meet the SOQ requirement. The SOQ should be no more than 2 pages, double-spaced, in 12 point font, and should address the questions below. Responses should be specific.
Describe your experience with project management, including delivery of a final product and any use of project management software. Describe your experience evaluating processes for areas of improvement and developing new/improved processes and implementation tools. Describe your experience working with data, including analyzing and evaluating data.
All methods of appointment will be considered such as list appointment, transfer, reinstatement, surplus, SROA, general reemployment, training and development, etc.

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are considered limited term, 12 months, and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.
Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
