Job Description and DutiesThe Accounting Operations section is recruiting for a motivated self-starter seeking a challenging, exciting and friendly working environment with a variety of work assignments at the Accountant Trainee level within the Accounts Payable unit. The Accountant Trainee is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and processing invoice payments for purchases made by the Lottery. Preparing and assembling Office Revolving Fund claim schedules. Preparing, processing, and posting monthly, quarterly, and year-end accruals and reconciliations for inclusion in the financial statements.For a more detailed listing of duties, please see the attached duty statement.

Working ConditionsA hybrid telework and in-office schedule is available; however, the in-office workload is dependent upon business needs.This position is eligible for telework however, is required to work in office 2-3 days a week based on operational need.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other software/technology.Ability to follow established policies and procedures including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to manage and complete multiple priorities.Experience and/or knowledge of full accrual accounting.
