Job Description And Duties

Do you have experience reconciling and reviewing complex invoices? Are you a natural problem solver who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? Do you enjoy working on multiple projects with different stakeholders?

The Debris Invoice Examiner will work within the Disaster Debris Recovery Office (DDRO) at CalRecycle to meet the needs of California communities impacted by Natural Disasters (Wildfires, floods, etc.) This work is critical to the communities we serve, and as a member of the DDRO team the work you will do is equally important. The cooperation of many state, federal, tribal, and county organizations relies on CalRecycle’s ability to complete timely work, validate invoices and ensure prompt payment to contractors and other agencies.

As a Debris Invoice Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing, auditing, analyzing, and tracking multiple complex invoices with multiple due dates. This position will leverage your technical ability to work with multiple data software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Fi$cal, or equivalent invoice tracking programs) Our most successful invoice examiner enjoys operating with ambiguity and ever-changing priorities and deadlines.

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.
