About the Position:This position reports directly to the Office Chief of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications and remains in direct contact and coordinates with other Public Affairs Branch Chiefs.• Coordinate Directly with Deputies, Directors and Elected Officials’ Staff on Events and Communication Needs• Finalize Multi-Media Content for Distribution locally, statewide, nationally and internationally• Create and Present Technical Communication Briefings for Executive and Sr. Staff• Maintain relationships with technology industry located in D4 (Silicon Valley)• Develop strategies and Coordinate efforts for the District and Statewide Strategic PlanThe Information Officer II is delegated responsibility for organizing all technical aspects of information activities in the department that garner media coverage or or are provided to the public. The incumbent is the recognized authority on technical requirements, administration of media-related activities, execution of technical support for the department's media strategy to communicate to a diverse audience. The incumbent will advise management to ensure that a coordinated message is conveyed to the media, public and department staff. The incumbent may be required to act on behalf of the Office Chief of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications (SSM II).*See more details on the Duty Statement located on the job posting.
