CalWest client school in Greater Los Angeles seeks a Lead General Studies Teacher to begin in August 2024.QualificationsA minimum of a college bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree and/or teaching credential is preferredRelevant teaching experience from independent, public, private, or charter schoolsKnowledge of relevant technologyFlexible thinkerTeam playerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience using Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop, phonics instruction (Fundations), Developmental Reading Assessment, Everyday Mathematics, Zones of Regulation, and/or Responsive ClassroomBackground in Special Education and/or Gifted and Talented InstructionResponsibilitiesWith input and guidance from current faculty and administrators, develop literacy, math, social studies, and other curriculumPlan, prepare, and deliver instruction that provides purposeful, active, and engaging learning experiencesPlan, prepare, and deliver lessons encouraging collaboration, creativity, and critical thinkingPlan, prepare, and deliver lessons with a focus on social-emotional learningDifferentiate instruction as necessary to meet the needs of all studentsCommunicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needsMaintain an organized, welcoming classroom environment conducive to student learningUse technology to support instructionUse appropriate classroom management strategies so that expectations are clear and students feel comfortable and able to learnCollaborate with other faculty on schoolwide, including Judaics, curriculum, programming, and eventsShow professionalismGrow and develop professionally
