Summary
Under the direction of the CFO, the Director of Reimbursement (Director) is responsible for managing all third-party activities related to Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare for all Cape Fear Valley Health System (CFVHS) facilities.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university with a concentration in Accounting or Finance required. A Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business or Certified Public Accountant is desirable. A minimum of 7 years demonstrated experience in reimbursement in a multi-facility health system is required. Experience in an academic health system is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
The position requires independent judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to grasp new concepts quickly along with effective communication with various levels of management. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of hospital billing and accounting with the ability to analyze problems as well as devise and implement improved and effective methods and procedures. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of computer functions.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to visually read reports and computer display terminals and must demonstrate manual dexterity to input data via a keyboard. The position requires mobility for the purpose of meeting with management at service areas throughout the facility. In addition, the nature of the work may require extended periods of sedentary work and extended working hours to meet stated objectives.
