What Nuclear Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal HealthPharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.Nuclear Pharmacy is responsible for providing radiopharmaceuticals and other drugs to medical care providers under highly regulated State and Federal guidelines; may also consult with or advise physicians and nuclear medicine technologists on the safe and efficacious use of radioactive drugs for diagnosis and therapy. Licensed.This Apprentice, Nuclear Pharmacy will be trained as a nuclear pharmacy technician and eventually advancing to the skills and tasks of a pharmacist. Shift/Schedule8 - 10 hours weeklyThis shift is mainly covering our weekend shift (Saturday and Sunday)Shift is usually 5:30am - 10:00amHoliday rotationsFlexibility to work other hours and days preferred.ResponsibilitiesUnder immediate direction of a qualified licensed Nuclear Staff Pharmacist, the Nuclear Pharmacy Apprentice assists with basic high-tech pharmacy services by preparing, dispensing, and distributing quality radiopharmaceuticals according to the rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for:Assisting in preparing and dispensing radiopharmaceuticals in keeping with the prescription and Company, State and Federal regulationsAssisting in assaying medications to determine identity, purity and strength.Entering data regarding quality control for kit preparations, and incoming inventoryVerifying physical inventory with computer recordsMaintaining lab equipment by performing checks and tests on a regular basisPerforming other duties as required to insure a safe and efficient pharmacy operation.QualificationsEnrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy preferredValid Missouri Pharmacy Technician or Intern LicenseHigh school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred2 - 4 years of work experience preferredMust hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving recordMinimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicleCustomer service skillsAbility to lift up to 75 poundsFlexibility to work various days, schedules and hours as neededAbility to use computers and tabletsA Covid-19 vaccination or a legitimate accommodation is required in order to be employed in this position.
