Financial Controller

Career Transitions Holdings, LCC is currently working with a long standing manufacturing client in Elkhart to assist in their efforts to secure a Manufacturing Controller for two operations, one in Elkhart and one in northern Mexico, tied to the same business segment.

The Controller directs activities of, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation and costing. Maintains reconciliation of inter-company accounts, collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, and other operating expenses, ensuring SOP’s are followed in support of Company goals and help for month, quarterly and yearly closing activities.

This position is an onsite position located in Elkhart, IN. Candidates outside the area will need to relocate.

Specific Duties:Perform month end close and reports, preparing journal entries and account reconciliation, as needed.Work closely with operations to identify cost areas for savings and implement cost reviews with operations team.Prepare actual vs plan (budget) analysis. Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information for decision making support.Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods, to determine effect on costs. Analyzes actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production cost.Provides management with various reports and data analyzing factors affecting prices and profitability of products.Develop and maintain standard cost of finished goods and production components in ERP system.Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing cost and inventory valuation.Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, and production and work order processing.Work closely with parent company in achieving company goals.

Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting or Finance related field with at least 5 years of accounting experience, including cost, reporting, budgeting, general ledger and analysis and reconciliation. Operations experience helpful.Strong working knowledge of relevant computer software including MS Office as well as financial software is required.Excellent analytical organizational and detail orientation skills are required.The selected candidate must be flexible and results-oriented with strong problem solving skills and a sense of urgency. Good knowledge of GAAP accounting experience preferred.
