Job Description

The Village of Heather Hills is seeking a Part-time Dishwasher to join our team!

Job Summary: As a dishwasher, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, pots, and pans used in the kitchen. Your role is essential in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, enabling other kitchen staff to work efficiently. You will work closely with the kitchen team to uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety.

Responsibilities

Dishwashing: Operate industrial dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans. Cleaning Surfaces: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, sinks, stoves, and equipment. Organizing: Properly store clean dishes and utensils in designated areas, ensuring easy access for kitchen staff. Trash Removal: Dispose of kitchen waste and garbage in accordance with sanitation guidelines. Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and cleaning agents. Maintenance: Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management promptly. Teamwork: Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized workspace, contributing to overall kitchen efficiency.

Requirements

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with kitchen staff. Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic. Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Safety Conscious: Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.

Education And Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not required.

Work Environment: Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals. Requires standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
