Foam Head Operator

We are looking for a Foam Head Operator to join our team in our Franklin Park, IL facility. The Foam Head Operator will be responsible for the production of Poly-ISO Insulation to published specifications. Tasks include processing chemical at the foam head, operation of process control panel. Knowledge of processing specifications, operation of production equipment, calculation of output square feet, sheet length and linear feet. Other skills include the ability to read gauges, meters and tape measures.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour (3rd Shift, 11pm to 7am)

Duties and Responsibilities

Set up, operate and maintain foam head area. Check temperature and fluid level of head part cleaner. Prepare and changing of head parts, nozzles and injectors. Preparing facer rolls and doing facer splices Use of SAPI. Enter data and reading as outlined in document. Inspect and maintain proper chemical laydown. Communicate with other operators and supervisor on start-up and during production run. Maintain head parts and associated equipment. Produce product to specification with the use of operator run logs Changing chemical totesShimming laminatorHousekeeping of Plant inside and out.Assist in training of new team membersSupport facer splices / facer change oversFill in other areas of the plant as required

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

Knowledge and Certified in Lock-out Tag-out ProgramKnowledge of processing specifications and quality standards for products.Knowledge of safety aspects of all equipment as well as the plant’s general safety policies.Understanding the impact of sending incorrect/defective product. Ability to operate mobile equipment safely

Working Conditions

Activities occur inside and insulation manufacturing facility. Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following:Temperatures exposed to both ambient/outside temperaturesNuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch pointsNoise of industrial machineryTypically, 40 hours per week with overtime as required3 shifts Monday-Friday with weekends as requiredFast paced 24/7 operations

Education & Experience Requirements

Education – High School Diploma or GED equivalent, technical school preferredExperience with driving a forkliftExperience - 2+ years of previous experience working as an operator in a manufacturing environment
