CASA Case Supervisor
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Case Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, supervision and management of all volunteer activity overseeing the management of child cases. The Case Supervisor will develop and maintain professional relationships with all appropriate parties including judges, the court staff, lawyers and state and community agencies. The Case Supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with the recruitment, screening and training of all volunteers.
Day to Day Responsibilities:CASE MANAGEMENTDevelop initial case plan and on-going strategies to assist volunteer advocacySupervise and further train, guide and coach volunteers through child welfare court case· Ensure accurate and timely data entry into case management database for reporting as required for State funding· Keep necessary records as described by case management procedures
VOLUNTEER SUPERVISIONEnsure volunteers initiate and maintain at least monthly contact and record information gathered from all relevant professionals involved in the caseAttend court days/hearings and meetings when CASA volunteer is not availableAccompany CASA volunteer on first visit of case, visit prior to reunification and other visits as needed Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer case records in accordance with case management proceduresBe available for consultation and assistance to all volunteersReview, edit and distribute court reportsComplete and submit court reports if it is not completed by the CASA volunte
SUSSEX COUNTY CASA OFFICEOversee CASA office daily operations in Sussex County to ensure presence in courthouse for volunteers and Children in Court staffMaintain contact with court staff to ensure up to date information on all court scheduling of hearings and DODD removalsAttend meetings of Sussex County organization and stakeholders to represent CASA and report information back to Executive Director and other staff
VOLUNTEER TRAININGAssist with volunteer recruiting, screening and interviewing when appropriateAssist with training of volunteersAssist with and attend evening CASA in-services/workshopsAssist with and attend swearing-in ceremonies
PROGRAM ACTIVITIESComplete CASA Volunteer TrainingAttend and participate in staff meetings and on committees as assignedAttend conferences and workshops as appropriateAssist in orientation of new staff, interns, and volunteersAssist in volunteer appreciation events and all program events when possibleOffer constructive feedback to improvements and advancements for the CASA organizationSupport and assist with events, committees, and activities for fundraising and community outreachPerform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
Qualifications:Minimum of a Master’s Degree in social service-related field or a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years work experience in a related field or experience as a CASA volunteerThe ability to communicate with, empower, support and coach volunteers to be effective in their rolesKnowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics of families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglectExcellent organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsPunctuality and time management skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlinesComputer knowledge (Word, Excel, ability to learn case management database)Ability to work independentlyStrong commitment to CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties goals and mission
