Join our dynamic Finance team at Cascades Containerboard Packaging as a Staff Accountant, where you'll play a crucial role in our financial operations. With over 3 years of accounting experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting, you'll have the opportunity to directly contribute to our overall financial successes while enhancing your skills and expertise with expert mentorship and development.
Key Responsibilities
Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries and fixed costs analysis.Reconcile financial data and provide maintenance cost analysis using SAP PLM-MRO module.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost efficiency and standardize processes.Assist with accounts payable processes and capital project cost tracking.Support periodic inventory processes and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.Analyze fixed cost expenditures and identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.Contribute to annual and monthly budgeting and forecasting processes.Provide analytical support to the Senior Controller, including financial reporting and variance analysis.Review financial records, research key business costs, and adjust ledger for accuracy.Recommend changes to processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profits.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Ability to prepare financial reports and provide recommendations based on data analysis.Excellent communication and presentation skills.3+ years of experience in financial analysis.Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, processes, and controls.Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
