Supply Chain Intern

Position Summary

Catalent’s Greenville, N.C. facility specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. This state-of-the-art facility has had over $100M of investments in recent years and features fit-for-scale capacity with potent handling capabilities, ideal for orphan or targeted drug development.

The Supply Chain intern partners with multiple functional groups (supply chain management, logistics, procurement, purchasing) to assist with meeting site needs. This role will support the Supply Chain and Logistics initiatives in support of the site’s short and long-term planning and strategy.

The Role

Assist with purchasing activities, including setting up and updating Purchasing Info Records for direct materials as well as order placement with appropriate documentation and tracking with follow up as needed for direct and indirect materialsAssist with inventory management by tracking stock levels, performing periodic inventory checks and analyzing inventory dataAssist in logistics coordination, including arranging shipments and performing receipts, tracking deliveries and resolving shipment-related issuesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations and timely delivery of productsAssist in analyzing supply chain performance metrics and identifying areas for improvementParticipate in supplier relationship management activities, including vendor communication and performance evaluationSupport Account Management activities by following up on client requestsAssist the Planning team in maintaining Manufacturing production schedules and related reportsCollaborate with designated Supply Chain and Logistics team members to observe, assist and learn from their expertiseGain understanding of and provide support for processes, activities and best practices within the supply chain functionAll other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Supply Chain or related disciplineDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with ERP software (e.g. SAP) is preferredCandidates are required to live within a commutable distance of Greenville, NCCapability to occasionally lift items more than 20 pounds Position requires movements of walking, standing, pulling, pushing
