Job Description

As a member of this team you will contribute to CDM Smith's success by;

Under general supervision compiling and authoring NEPA documentation.Gathers, compiles, and analyzes land use, economic forecasting, demographic, environmental, and other related data.Performs field investigations, surveys, studies, or other research to compile and analyze data on environmental impacts.Creates surveys, exhibits, and other meeting materials as necessary, to identify areas of public concern and facilitate public and stakeholder input.Reviews transportation plans for compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws.Collaborates with engineers to research, analyze or resolve complex transportation conceptual/schematic design issues.Contributes to firm's TKM by assisting in the development of white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban, Community, or Regional Planning or related discipline.3 years of related experience.Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Skills And Abilities

Basic knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by all transportation modes, and understanding of current transportation trends/issues. Basic knowledge of government regulations, and agency rules. Basic knowledge of the practical application of regional and community planning. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, models, and equipment to study and/or design of movement of people, goods, and services. Good written and oral communication skills.
