Soft Goods Designer (Hybrid)

Compensation Range: $25.00 - 33.14 per hour

We are seeking a talented Soft Goods Designer to join our client's dynamic team!

As a Soft Goods Designer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and developing new products that define the next generation of our client's brand. This role requires an individual who can work independently as well as directly with the US based Design Team. The role offers opportunities to collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain business teams from our client's global offices. Your skills and experiences will be used to ensure Brand and Product architecture guidelines are being met.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop designs for new soft goods products.Take direction from the Soft Goods Design Manager to create and develop designs, and provide support for updating existing products as needed.Manage your own workload effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards.Define aspects of form, aesthetics, and user-product interfaces using your creative skillset.Partner with core design specialisms such as Industrial Design, Color & Trend, Fashion, Usability, and Craftsmanship.Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, and Supply Chain teams from our global offices in EMEA, LATAM, and APAC.Ensure that brand and product architecture guidelines are met.

Qualifications

Three years or more of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design in soft goods/fashion.Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design or related field.Ability to travel at least once per quarter.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Demonstrate ability to work in team environments.Ability to present in English.Basic awareness of pattern development principles, including flat pattern and draping.Working knowledge of human factors and ergonomic principles as they relate to soft goods design.Working knowledge of materials and construction techniques, including fabric and filler material selection.Working knowledge of design for manufacturing principles, with the ability to solve manufacturing problems.Working knowledge of development models, including sewing prototypes and using industrial sewing machines.Working knowledge of design fundamentals, rapid ideation, form development, drawing ability, material knowledge, and market awareness.Working knowledge of visual communication principles and creating compelling visual presentations.Working knowledge of digital design software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
