Quality Manager

Overview: The Quality Manager provides leadership in the development and implementation of systems and processes that assures that CEM delivers the best customer experience possible. In addition to ensuring that internal and external customer requirements are met, the Quality Manager would focus on analyzing and preventing internal and external failures as well as assuring compliance to regulatory standards and ISO certification.The position requires coordinated quality leadership with collaboration across departments, tracking performance metrics and driving continuous improvement processes. The Quality Manager will lead an on-going culture of quality, learning and teamwork, geared specifically to the needs of the customers and the long-term sustainability of the business.

Responsibilities-Strong collaboration, including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts as well as communication with the Engineering and Operations team.

• Create and implement quality standards to deliver optimum product quality. Oversee the quality department inspection processes. This includes: Development of sampling plans, quality levels and inspection criteria as well as optimal data collection throughout the production cycle, from incoming material to final inspection.
• Lead continuous improvement projects: Lead problem solving efforts to improve quality, eliminate waste and reduce cost. Monitor and evaluate internal production processes, examining product quality, to identify quality issues and facilitate improvements. Lead the Corrective and preventive action program (CPAR) and continuous improvement initiatives. Oversee the containment and disposition of non-conforming material and lead resolution of quality issues.
• Quality Documentation and Reports: Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends to improve quality performance and facilitate proactive solutions. Collect data and perform statistical analysis to validate root cause/corrective actions, process validation, process improvement, and inspection processes. Develop and analyze quality-reporting metrics, KPIs and report to management on quality issues, trends and cost of quality.
• Facilitate efforts to improve customer satisfaction and product quality. Review customer installations reported issues and drive product quality improvements. Conduct warranty reviews, failure analysis, collaborate and drive effective corrective action plans to drive design/manufacturing improvements to reduce warranty and increase customer satisfaction (DOAs, field complaints, systemic issues, warranty parts).
• Lead weekly and quarterly Quality review meetings. Develop strategic initiatives and objectives to improve internal quality, product reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Work with Sustaining Engineering during New Product Transitions: Review Manufacturability, Reliability & Usability and performing FMEAs. Facilitate quality improvements and synchronization between Design Engineers, manufacturing and suppliers. Review Engineering changes and coordinate with engineering and operations to develop optimal quality requirements and ensure conformance of purchased materials, product assembly and test.
• Direct the activities of the SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer) and Quality Technician, including First Articles, Supplier communication, inspections, SCARs, scorecard quality reporting/trends, development and continuous improvement initiatives.Identify Quality Risks and Opportunities; drive advancements and verify effectiveness.
• Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.Investigate, evaluate and propose new technologies and/or industry best practices to improve quality and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge skills and abilities

• Advanced Degree within an Engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Systems etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of quality control methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements; demonstrated mastery of quality tools and processes. Experience in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, statistical process control, root cause and corrective action systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Demonstrated success managing people and building effective team environments, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and collaborate well at all levels of the organization and effectively facilitate projects and activities, team building, conflict resolution.
• Dynamics 365, Power BI experience a plus
• 5 years of proven experience as a Quality Manager working in fast-paced design and equipment manufacturing environment under ISO 9001:2015 certification.
• Proven ability to perform and train others in quality measurement, testing and systems application.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Manager and/or Auditor desired.
