Job SummaryThe Corporate Energy Manager's main responsibility is to optimize the Cement Operations power cost and to lead the Scope 2 decarbonization roadmap.

Job ResponsibilitiesLead the Scope 2 decarbonization roadmap. Develop and implement on-site renewable energy projects and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements.Develop and implement a procurement strategy to increase renewable energy consumption.Manage power procurement for all cement plants in the U.S.Drive power provider selection process from Request for proposal (RFP) to recommendation Develop RFP including technical specifications, consumption profiles, price structure/schemes and supply durationLead negotiation toward the best option available and alternative evaluationSecure approvals a contracting documentationGuarantee contract compliance with CEMEX USA Standards and Company guidelines.Secure and assure implementation of distribution and transportation service agreements: Connection service agreement/s and Demand response programs. Develop strategies to optimize the power cost. Monitor power cost key performance indicators (KPIs) monitoring including,Deviations Root Cause AnalysisAction plans implementationShort-term cost forecastingGlobal network alignment Track renewable projects performance (i.e. Windmills in Victorville)Guide power consumption operational parameters:Monitor consumption patterns vs power rate structureDemand response program management Forecast monthly consumption and costLead Energy Efficiency program Coordinate Energy Management System Provide guidance for Energy-Star certification Development and coordination of Energy Efficiency projectsMonitor Power regulation, grid availability (capacity) and service/subsidies opportunities.Manage power supply business relationships. Single point of contact for business-related matters with power retail, distribution, transport and other related government agencies (EPA, Energy Star, DOE, etc.)Incorporate strategy to the Company’s cornerstone plans: Budget and 5 years business plan and CO2 roadmap and Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility and Public Affairs plansProvide technical guidance and advisory to Aggregates, Ready-mix and Admixtures business unitsCollaborate with Market Intelligence to develop a cost-competitive advantageTalent development and technical training in the area of expertise. Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering or BusinessTen (10) experience in renewable energy project development and power contract negotiations

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience with U.S. power marketsGood oral and written communication skillsProblem-solving skillsComputer literate with knowledge of applicable softwareContinually undergo training to enhance technical and managerial skills

Working ConditionsCapability to work extended hours as necessaryAbility to participate in required overnight travel as necessary
