About The Opportunity

The Behavior Specialist works to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs. The Behavior Specialist collaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Follows the instructions of the BCBA/program supervisor/teacherProvides behavior assistance/interventions to assigned clientsPerforms ABA related teaching strategiesProvides behavior support servicesProvides crisis interventionReview and Implement behavior intervention plansReview and implement behavioral goals found within IEPsDocuments session per policies and proceduresCollects data accurately and efficientlyStrictly adhere to confidentiality requirementsAssist students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene.Implement behavior management techniques in accordance with the directions given by the supervising teacher; including reinforcing appropriate behaviors in accordance with the teachers plan and supervising the student during these behavior management techniquesAdditional job duties as assigned

High school diploma or GEDYou enjoy working with children and making a difference!Availability: Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:00 pm (part time or potentially Full Time (30+ hours)Two (2) years relevant experience working in the school environment preferredCurrent CPR certification preferredAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skillsComputer proficiency requiredSensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population.Able to travel to and work in multiple program service areas; reliable transportation needed.Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; bilingual ability preferred.Able to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills.
