📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Description
The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of housekeeping duties to maintain the facilities and patient care areas. Customer service is emphasized using the AIDET technique. The Environmental Services Technician is to maintain prescribed standards of cleanliness for assigned areas using germicidal solutions. Follows prescribed procedures and posted work schedules. Procedures may include utilizing chemicals and cleaning agents to maintain prescribed standards of cleanliness. Performs general cleaning consisting of floor cleaning emptying trash cleaning bathrooms including showers wiping down walls and cleaning windows. May also operate floor equipment to strip scrub and refinish floors shampoo carpets and clean baseboards.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates ability to follow through on all assignments
Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the facility
Efficiently maintains assigned work areas in an orderly and sanitary condition
Hands out service cards to all patients whose rooms have been cleaned
Knocks and waits for response before entering a patient's room. Uses AIDET (Acknowledge the patient Introduce who you are. Describe why you are there. Extent of time to be spent in room. Thank patient for allowing you to serve them.)
Participates in all housekeeping/cleaning duties and reports any repairs needed
Shows willingness and initiative to use latest housekeeping techniques and procedures
Willing to assist team members as needed
Other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
Preferred Education: High School Diploma / GED
Required Experience: Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. Positive customer service skills
Preferred Experience: Housekeeping experience in health care setting
