OFFSITE DISTRIBUTION TRUCK DRIVER - EVENINGS

Job Description

This position is responsible for operating Centra Health supply straight box trucks and vans, ensuring the pick-up, transportation, and delivery of clinical supplies, mail, and/or pharmaceuticals to Centra system wide campuses and locations. This position assists in palletizing, staging, wrapping, loading, and unloading of trucks and vans. Products and media are routed through the Offsite Distribution Center Hub, including those to and from the Hospital Receiving Departments, Hospital Labs, Ambulatory Sites, and system-wide Pharmacy locations.

Responsibilities

Appropriately palletizes, stages, and loads trucks and vans for system-wide hospitals, clinics, and practices, at the system-wide offsite distribution center hub.

Perform pickups and deliveries via company owned trucks and vans, without deviation from the established schedule or dispatched routes. Includes the timely unloading of palletized and carted shipments.

Deliveries may include mail, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, linen, lab specimens, print shop orders and special requests to off-site campuses on a routine basis or as dispatched.

Responsible for general maintenance of the organization's vehicles.

Operates material handling equipment including work assist vehicles, Pallet Jacks, and other Hospital system equipment and vehicles in a safe manner when distributing products.

May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time.

Qualifications

Required Education: High School Diploma / GED. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Required Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of box truck or other large vehicle driving experience. Maintain a professional appearance. Demonstrate a positive attitude to all customers and fellow employees. Maintain a safe, clean, and attractive vehicle. Anticipate customer needs. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others and perform tasks independently. Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, frequent bending, and lifting packages ranging up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Ability to operate large box trucks up to twenty-six (26) feet in length, full size vans, and other motorized vehicles. Basic skills in the operation of material handling equipment safely to include forklifts and motorized pallet jacks

Preferred Experience: Previous warehouse or logistics experience
