📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Central Transport LLC is one of the nation’s most reliable and technologically advanced LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carriers to date. We are privately owned and have been servicing manufacturing & retail companies of all sizes for almost 90 years now. For example, we have recently implemented 25 next-day hubs in our network to provide immediate, essential services for our customers overnight. We also hold the industry’s most modern fleet with our tractors & trailers having an average age of 2.5 years old. Ideal Candidate Requirements:Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferredMust have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employeesDesire to surround customer with excellence in serviceHigh aptitude for technologyThe ability to multi-task while being detail orientedExcellent written, listening and verbal communication skillsWillingness to work 50 hours/week averageBachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required
Duties include, but are not limited to:Oversee dock operations at the terminalThis includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staffProvide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workersMonitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceededMaintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standardsEnsure company operational model complianceSupport a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customersFlexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
