Community Services Director

The Central WV Community Action, Inc. seeks a dynamic and talented Community Services Director to join its organization. The Community Services Director will lead a dedicated and motivated team, overseeing a diverse portfolio of grant-funded programs, including a well-utilized rural transportation program in Harrison County, WV. The new Director must be a proponent of the agency’s mission and values who advocates for a high-level of customer service as the agency administers case management services throughout the area.

In addition, the Director will serve as a liaison to a variety of community groups, funders, and guiding committees, working closely with the executive director to provide strategic direction as the program moves into the future. The successful candidate will be someone who’s excited about making a difference in people’s lives, and who appreciates working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

ResponsibilitiesServe as member of the agency's leadership team. Make program presentations to the Board of Directors as appropriate/requested. Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the agency's strategic plan and adherence to national Organization Standards. Build partnerships with community stakeholders through in-person, telephonic and electronic communication. Create and facilitate memos of understanding. Serve as agency liaison on various state-wide and/or CSBG initiatives.Ensure development of program policies and procedures that adhere to all legal and funder requirements, as well as best practices. Successfully follow federal grant requirements. Train, supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support program staff; conduct ROMA and other program-quality training for agency staffServe as LITT (and/or other customer data system) administrator; maintain and ensure accurate agency and customer recordsGenerate professional reports and communicationsDevelop and facilitate program advisory committee(s) as appropriateManage program operating budgetLead development of community needs assessment, identify gaps in service and pursue potential strategies to reduce need; analyze ongoing program data regularlyImplement strategies for outreach to the general public and potential customersDrive to program sites, meetings and trainings. Occasionally travel outside of region to state-wide and national meetings and conferences.

QualificationsDemonstrated success in program planning and management, including experience with evaluation/tracking systems.Experience with federal grants management preferredDemonstrated success in cultivating relationships and/or building partnerships.Familiarity with and sensitive to the needs of specialized populations.Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional standards of conduct.EducationBA/BS Degree strongly preferred. Social Science or Public/Business Administration degree preferred. Significant experience may be substituted for educational requirements.ExperienceMinimum five years of closely related work experience required; minimum eight years of experience preferred.
