Role Description This is a PRN on-site role for a Sleep Technician at Centricity Research located in Rincon, GA. The Sleep Technician will be responsible for performing polysomnography, assessing and diagnosing sleep disorders, conducting EEG tests, and assisting with sleep medicine procedures. The role involves working closely with patients and healthcare professionals in a clinical research setting.

Essential Functions

Abide by GCP, SOPs, company guidelines, and local healthcare privacy regulationsMaintain professional relationships with study participants, physicians, industry representatives and vendors of trial managementPerform and evaluate routine and specialized overnight polysomnograms (PSGs), MWTs, and occasionally Multiple Seep Latency Tests (MSLTs) during dayPrepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures, attaching sensors and electrodes, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the processContinuously monitor patients’ sleep patterns, vital signs, and responses to interventions during the sleep study, making real time adjustments as necessaryPerform research studies per protocol which may include full EEGs (10/20 cranial measurement system) ensuring they adhere to relevant regulations and standards, such as those established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) along with the Sponsor requirementsBe proficient in using all equipment required to run a validated PSG (polysomnography)Be proficient in reading and troubleshooting EEGsBe proficient in reading and troubleshooting ECGsBe proficient in reading and troubleshooting all plethysmography equipmentBe proficient in reading and troubleshooting dedicated PSG software(s)Be medically trained to assess patients in critical/life threatening medical events and respond appropriatelyDocumentation: Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including study documentation on required Sponsor formsMust have flexible schedule to accommodate protocol visit window requirementsComplete required training to become familiar with various platforms used and protocol requirementsSafety, Security, and Health: Cleans and disinfects equipment placed directly on patientsMonitors for adverse events in patients and acts accordingly and per protocolAbide by HIPAA regulations under federal privacy regulationsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned
