Application Engineer / Inside Technical Sales
π Role Overview & Responsibilities
Review project inquiry documentation (i.e., instrumentation specifications) to create specific product model numbers in compliance with required specifications.
Create instrumentation product proposals/quotes that are in compliance with the specifications and / or list deficiencies.
Read project documentation (i.e., specifications, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, etc.) to identify the number of instruments required and application details required.
Create an instrumentation take off list in order to prepare a proposal / quote. Create submittal packages which includes responding to end userβs submittal comments and request for information (RFI), creating data sheet submittals and ISA data sheets where required. Review contract requirements including terms and conditions and prepare proposals for submittal to contractors, integrators and end users.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with customers (e.g., end users, integrators, subcontractors, and exporters) to configure the necessary instruments for their specific application. Oversee multiple projects at the same time at different stages from the initial quote to the delivery of the items. Research Dodge Construction Central reports and city web sites to actively pursue projects and research project status.
Actively follow up through calls and email with end users, city employees, general contractors and subcontractors to determine status of bid projects on active proposals. Keep a status report on all active projects in the pre-bid and bid stage as well as won / lost or postponed, as well as projected award date, and competitive feedback (i.e., technical, price, delivery, etc.) on all won / lost projects. Cultivate relationships with key municipal contacts, integrators and customers through responding to request for quotes, issuing Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and providing order information Communicate effectively with the internal team members and outside sales representatives / account managers.
Communicate effectively with the various manufacturers represented by CFM-SF, Inc. regarding technical needs, bid results, delivery requirements, return material requests, expedite requests.
