THE ROLE

As the Dean of Culture for Meeting Street Schools Jasper & Beaufort, you will play a pivotal role in creating a culture of safety, inclusivity, community, and joy. Reporting directly to the Principal and working closely with our school counselor, you will lead the development of a social-emotional framework that supports our educational mission.

The ideal candidate excels at developing relationships with students, families, teachers, and colleagues based on mutual respect, integrity and trust, in pursuit of school goals and vision. As a team player with existing, demonstrable knowledge of how to build a classroom and school culture focused on joy and growth, you have experience intervening with students who are facing significant academic and social and emotional barriers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and Lead the Vision for Culture at MSJB: Articulate the desired values and behaviors necessary to create a culture of transformative learning.- Strategic Oversight + Implementation of School Culture Functions: Design and implement all school culture functions including community meetings, social emotional learning, character development programs, and behavior management systems.- Creation of Tier-One Classroom Procedures: Create and monitor tier-one expectations, routines, and procedures. Observe classroom execution and provide real-time coaching to teachers as needed.- Data Analysis: Regularly analyze data to identify trends in student and teacher behavior, identify tier 2 and 3 students and develop intervention plans for identified students, identify school-wide trends in student culture and create action plans.- Student Support: Respond to level 2 and level 3 behavior infractions with an eye towards restorative practices and skill-building.- Design + Deliver Professional Development: Providing culture, social-emotional learning, and behavior management professional development to members of the MSJB team and community.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree requiredAt least three years of teaching or counseling experience in under-resourced communities with consistent student achievement and growthAt least two years of experience supervising and coaching teachers

COMPENSATION
