Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips is currently seeking a Product Accounting Analyst to join the Finance organization located at the Sweeny, TX facility. The Analyst is responsible for frequent interactions with various sites’ operations engineers, logistics specialist and corporate commercial analysts while performing analysis of production accounting for multiple sites.

Responsibilities

Prepares and analyzes daily and monthly production quantities Reconciles daily and monthly production/consumption quantities with shipment/receipts quantities Verifies monthly yield accounting inputs and product reconciliation in SAP Reconcile on-site and offsite inventory storage locations; Analyze and resolve SAP product movement errors and problems Prepare ad-hoc analysis to support plant operations and other departments; Interpret new feedstock/production lineups and prepares SAP product movements Prepares and records general ledger entries and statistical volumetric information in SAP Prepares third party billings including interpretation of products and services contracts Reviews SOX documentation and perform/evaluate annual testing Assists with special projects as assigned, including process improvement and efficiency initiatives

Required Qualifications

Minimum education of bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or at least 5 years of relative experience Ability to accommodate extended hours due to closing schedules, budgeting cycles, & special projects Strong proficiency with MS office, specifically Excel (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Demonstrates a solid understanding of accounting principles, ability to apply pertinent accounting policies and practices. Ability to recognize, define, analyze, and resolve issues and transactions with financial implications Clearly and concisely conveys ideas and information both written and oral to a wide range of customers. Active listener to ensure accurate understanding Ability and willingness to respond quickly to customer needs. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain trusted customer relationships. Uses tact and diplomacy Cooperates with team members and groups outside the immediate team. Open to coaching, suggestions, and guidance from supervisor. Willing to share information with others and seek assistance from appropriate resources Ability to apply new technologies to improve business processes or solve business problems Ability to sustain high productivity through prioritization, multitasking and takes initiative to handle requests independently. This person needs to be self-motivated and be able to self-direct their schedules and timelines to achieve desired results

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SAP FI/CO module or other ERP systems Experience with PowerBI, SharePoint, and AORA (Aspen Operations Reconciliation and Accounting) Experience in manufacturing environment
