📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF POSITION:The purpose of the Application Engineer is to provide effective technical communication between cpc, its customer and the market, to ensure cpc product/service quality meeting customers’ requirement and increase cpc sales and market share in the America market.
The Application Engineer is expected to identify/develop new business opportunities and convince customers to specify cpc products.
Internally, the Application Engineer shall perform engineer capabilities to improve the safety, efficiency and quality of cpcusa warehouse operation. This may include equipment sourcing, installation, training and projects assigned by the management.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: To support the direct and indirect sales force with the necessary technical information to prepare and submit quotations. This consists of technical and pricing support based on customer. To act as Sales Engineer and perform selling as requested.Lead the technical communication between cpc and the market.Lead on resolution for customer application or claim. This includes leading in house QC /Engineering improvement and changes. Perform Engineering calculations and illustrations and provide resolution/recommendation to customer applications.Review specifications and communicate technical upgrade/changes to customers.Interprets customer technical requirement for solution.Collects, organizes and report the technical trend in the market.Maintain and update the comparison of competitor products, Performs competitor products comparison and crossover for quick response to customers’ inquiries.Trains customers, distributors, representatives and cpcusa personnel in product and technical information.Updates and researches recommendations for product improvements. Closely communicate with R/D group.Lead the cpcusa QC system to ensure the product quality meeting customers’requirement. This often includes setting quality criteria and standard operation procedure for the cpcusa warehouse operators and close communication with cpc Taiwan factory.
Skills and Experience:EDUCATION: B.S. in Technical degree (BSME or BSEE preferred) or significant engineering experience in the application and/or design of linear motion components. (Bearing, Linear bearing, ball screw, actuator, linear motor, Automation systems, XYZ robot, motion control hard and software)
EXPERIENCE:Sales Engineer IAbout 3 yrs related technical sales or AE experience.Sales Engineer II3-10 years related technical sales or AE experienceProven sales improvement track record
OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:P.C. skills – MS office (Excel, Power point, words), Internet/cloud, solidwork.Industry Skills: linear motion components, motion control hard and software experienceJob skill: assertive attitude, time management, 3D drawing, and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
Oral and written communication, bilingual with fluent English and Chinese or Spanish is a plus.
