Benefits Specialist Opportunity

Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi (“CSG Law”), a full-service regional law firm based in Roseland, NJ, is seeking a Benefits Specialist to be a critical partner in administering and optimizing our employee benefits programs. This role will have responsibility for all aspects of benefits administration, ensuring compliance with regulations while prioritizing employee satisfaction and well-being. The position is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and works in a matrixed system with other Human Resources professionals, the Chief Operating and Finance Officer, retirement plan Trustees and other firm Committees.

Responsibilitiesemployee benefits programs daily, covering health, dental, vision, retirement, life, disability insurances, and wellness initiativesas a point of contact for employee queries on benefits coverage, eligibility, and enrollmentmonthly benefit plan audits and analyses for compliancewith the CHRO, stakeholders, benefits brokers and insurers to negotiate contracts, assess plan options, and evaluate cost-effectivenessannual benefits plan analyses, including benchmarking studies and utilization reviews, to gauge program effectiveness and identify areas for enhancementopen enrollment activities, including communication preparation, information sessions and overseeing enrollment procedures in HRIS systemannual audits of retirement plans and preparation of Forms 5500, 945 and other filings in collaboration with CHRO, other HR specialists and Plan auditorscompliance with federal, state, and local regulations such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLAretirement plans, including 401(k) and pension plans, ensuring IRS compliance and fiduciary dutiesand deliver employee education and communication initiatives to promote understanding and appreciation of benefits programsin leave of absence administration, including FMLA, disability, and statutory leave programsupdated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in employee benefits, making recommendations for benefit adjustments as necessaryin developing and implementing HR policies and procedures related to benefits administrationsupport for other HR initiatives and projects as requiredQualificationsdegree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related fieldyears of experience in benefits administration in a professional environmentknowledge of employee benefits laws, regulations, and best practiceswith benefits administration software and HRIS systems; Dayforce experience is a pluscommunication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with employees across all levelsanalytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detailto handle sensitive information discreetly and professionallycertifications: CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar HR credentials

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
