Clinical Supervisor

JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor- Therapeutic Foster CareFLSA STATUS: Part-Time Non-Exempt (Hourly) - ProfessionalREPORT TO: Chief Executive Officer PRIMARY DUTIES:1. Provide clinical support, consultation, and oversight of the Childhaven Therapeutic Foster Care Program, assuring compliance with all required rules and regulations as put forth by Childhaven, the State of NM, and Medicaid regarding the provision of this service.2. Oversee and evaluate the planning, implementation, and progress of the treatment/service plan and discharge/safety plan for each client, assuring the least restrictive environment is sought and optimal treatment plans for each client in care. Coach behavioral health staff to assess clients' mental health, determine diagnosis, develop optimal treatment plans and assure comprehensive assessments.4. Focus on family inclusion in the writing of the vision/goals, utilizing a wraparound philosophy that emphasizes the importance of natural supports. Assure discharging clients are assigned follow-up services as appropriate. 5. Conduct clinical supervision meetings for the Therapeutic FC Program to address the clinical needs of the children/adolescents in care (minimum 4 hrs. monthly but scheduled typically weekly) that meet Medicaid regulations.6. With the Program Director, monitor that staff-client caseload are properly assigned, quality assurance is adhered to, and accurate records are kept.Assist Program Director in recruiting, hiring and developing competent behavioral health staff that can assure a therapeutic setting for foster children and youth in the foster placement.Assist Program Director to determine education and training needs of therapeutic foster parents. JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:1. Ability to provide clinical supervision and attainment of clinical supervisor training.2. Familiarity with community services and social services delivery systems for youth 2-18.3. Knowledge of the effects of trauma, human development, child abuse/neglect, child welfare/family systems, substance abuse and mental health treatment modalities for severely emotionally disturbed clients.4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to supervise and work with others.5. A thorough knowledge of child and adolescent development and behavioral heath diagnosis and treatment.6. An appreciation of and experienced with cultural diversity and a working knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act.QUALIFICATIONS:1. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in clinical practice with children, adolescents and families.2. Working knowledge of the DSM-V/ICD 10.3. A license or licensed eligible in New Mexico as:a. A psychiatrist, Psychologist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)b. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), c. a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or other Licensed Independent Practitioner in a related field.d. Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing or Clinical Nurse Specialist in a related field.e. A Registered Nurse (RN) with a masters in Psychiatric Nursing.4. Crisis management skills required: Completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) course5. Ability to pass comprehensive background checks, current valid First Aid/CPR, SAFE Home study and Nurtured Heart Approach training.6. Abide by state licensing regulations and standards, and Childhaven policies and procedures.
