Summary
Serve as an integral member of the Children's Health Andrews Institute (CHAI) clinical leadership team including outpatient clinic, call rotation for concussion, neuropsychology concussion fellowship, and sports medicine outreach in the surrounding community. Evaluate and pursue opportunities related to clinical concussion care, integration of technology, relevant research trends, and future business development.
Responsibilities
Administration: Oversee initiatives and current programs within CHAI related to adolescents and adults including concussion/sports neuropsychology, behavioral health, substance abuse, neuro-performance training, and sports psychology.Clinical Practice: Provide daily clinical concussion care and oversee the development of additional satellite locations for CHAI Concussion Clinical Services throughout strategic markets to compliment recognition as destination program location.Academic Development:Research - Execute independent research agenda through collaboration with Children's Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Research program. Guide clinical research of concussion neuropsychology fellows. Leverage collaborations to secure internal/external funding opportunities. Represent CHAI at national professional conferences through free communications, seminars, workshops, and other educational sessions to bolster the Sports Neuropsychology Fellowship.Fellowship - Serve as the Program/Site Director for the Sports Neuropsychology Fellowship as required by APPIC including; administration and operations, teaching and scholarly activity, fellow recruitment and selection, evaluation and promotion of fellows, necessary disciplinary action, supervision of fellows, and fellow education in the context of patient care.Outreach: Utilize the concussion and program initiatives as a mechanism for engagement with community outreach targets and potential business development opportunities that align with the strategic market growth of the Institute
Work Experience
At least 8 years experience in a clinical setting with an established research reputation with recent publications in field of sports neuropsychology Required
Education
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Doctoral degree in Neuropsychology or Medical Doctor with specialization in Sports Medicine through successful completion of fellowship program Required
Licenses & Certifications
License to practice Psychology in the State of Texas Upon Hire Required Doctoral program accredited by the American/Canadian Psychological Association at time of graduation Upon Hire Required Predoctoral internship accredited by the American/Psychological Association AND one of the following: a) Two (2) years of postdoctoral training in an APPCN member program, or b) documentation of two (2) years of training under the supervision of a board certified (ABPP-CN) neuropsychologist. Upon Hire Required If internship is not APA/CPA accredited, must have successfully passed credential review by ABCN for American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology, OR be Board certified by ABPP in Clinical Neuropsychology. Upon Hire Required Must become certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in the appropriate specialty practice within 7 years of obtaining privileges. Upon Hire Required Initial Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (PPMAB) training is preferred at the Andrews Institute, but not required. 60 Days, Preferred Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 60 Days, Required
