Data Management Specialist (REDCap Experience Required)

Expected Starting Salary Range: 28.15 - 35.98

Representative Responsibilities

Database Management - Design, develop, and maintain databases in accordance with established data management plans, protocols, measure operational definitions and GCDMP guidelines. Develop rigorous quality control and quality assurance processes to perform data validation for data generated from clinical research studies and other databases to assure agreed upon data quality. Create and follow standardized data quality processes to ensure reproducibility. Identify inconsistencies and discrepancies in data and take the necessary steps to correct. Data Systems - Collaborate with team members from various departments on the design, documentation, testing and implementation of clinical research databases and data collection instruments. Develop systems for organizing data for analysis, identifying and reporting trends. Design and/or review Case Report Forms (CRFs). Develop and manage processes for incorporating external datasets. Create and maintain detailed data dictionaries, data management plans and other data management documentation. Act as a liaison and primary point of contact among clinical operations, statisticians, quality improvement, regulatory, and project support staff for all data management related issues and concerns. Quality Assurance - Participate in protocol reviews and identify critical data items required for analysis and reporting. Ensure accurate project-related databases through the timely generation of logic statements, querying of data, edit checks, resolution of inaccuracies and auditing of databases in accord with GCDM practices. Perform data validation and cross-form comparisons to check data completeness and accuracy. Identify, clarify, and resolve data discrepancies. Lead robust user acceptance testing and version control for all databases and documentation. Train study specific research personnel on appropriate data capture, storage, and quality control and testing procedures. Reporting and Documentation - Design and development of case report forms, data entry guidelines, data management plans, auditing and edit check guidelines for complex research studies. Retrieve, summarize, and report on study specific information on a timely and consistent basis for project, institution, and funding agency personnel for complex research studies.

Education/Experience

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field 3 - 5 years of work experience in a related job discipline 2 - 3 years of REDCap build, or other electronic clinical data capture development, experience

Preferred

Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Power BI Experience with Tableau Experience with Smartsheet Experience with Case Report Form (CRF) development Experience with database specification development

Strong written and oral communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and project management skills Strong training and mentoring skills Very strong understanding of good clinical practices (GCP), good clinical data management practices (GCDMP), clinical trial processes, and medical terminology. Extensive experience with case report form development and electronic data capture systems.
