Technology Content Writer

Technology can connect us, empower us, and drive us. And words—whether they’re in an e-book, a web page, a case study, or a video script—hold the power to educate and inspire.

We’re looking for an editor and writer who is passionate about both; tech and content creation are among their favorite things.

Our ideal candidate has extensive experience creating tech-focused content, working with subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver crisp, engaging content for the right audience, at the right time.

They are flexible, resourceful, and inquisitive, thriving on creating content that addresses the needs of existing and potential customers, while shining a light on the solutions Cisco provides.

We’re looking for not only a master of the written word, who will be an in-house expert on writing, but also a passionate advocate for the customer.

Additionally, they possess excellent interpersonal skills, working as a valuable partner with other content creators, integrated marketers, and audience and product experts to brainstorm, create, review, and optimize their deliverables.

What You'll Do

Create content focused on the awareness and consideration phases of the buying cycle, including but not limited to e-books, whitepapers, blogs, web pages, and case studiesManage the editing process with internal stakeholdersBe a go-to writing resource in the marketing organization, writing or reviewing copy as neededWork closely with colleagues on the marketing team to understand content objectives and participate in content-specific brainstorming sessions for campaignsCollaborate with designers to fine-tune content throughout the content creation phaseActively cultivate an always-learning mindset, with a curiosity and eagerness to learn about our technology and its benefitsUse project management software as part of the content creation, editing, and delivery process

Who You Are

7+ years of experience writing for technology decision makersAn excellent editor and writer, with a passion for creating copy that engages, educates, and inspires to actionAbility to take input from multiple stakeholders to formulate a cohesive direction for any given piece of contentStrong communication skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in a cross-functional, fast-paced team environmentAbility to balance and prioritize multiple projects and to adjust to shifts in timelines, deadlines, budgets, and project goalsPortfolio that showcases excellence in writing, featuring an easy-to-understand, engaging, and polished style - please submit with your resume upon applicationExperience not only executing on content pieces but in advising on content strategy
