Role DescriptionThe Long Range Planner is a highly responsible, professional position that assists in directing and managing all activities and responsibilities for the updating of Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Code, and Planning special projects. As a Long Ranger Planner, you will perform advanced professional planning work of complex specialized projects and studies with a minimum of supervision.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) from an accredited college or university in Planning, Public Administration, or related field.Eight (8) years of progressive Planning/Growth Management experience.American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification, or similar professional certification in Growth Management field preferred.Requires ability to maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.Must have strong working knowledge of computers and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of Products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
