Dacono, CO (pop. 6,494) seeks an energetic, thoughtful, and honest local government leader to serve as its next City Manager. The seven-member City Council is aligned in seeking an experienced professional who will be able to cultivate and manage relationships with elected officials, staff, and the community. The next City Manager should have demonstrated experience in financial management, growth and development, an understanding of a water utility and how water rights can be distributed, as well as building economic development partnerships.

Centrally located and adjacent to I-25, Dacono is 10 miles north of the Denver metro area, 44 miles south of Fort Collins, 28 miles northwest of Denver International Airport (DIA) and 21 miles northeast of Boulder.

The City Manager is responsible for carrying out the will of the City Council and management of all Department Directors. Currently there are five Department Directors: Community Development Director, City Clerk, Director of Finance, Police Chief, and Public Works Director.

A graduate degree in public administration or a closely related field from an accredited university is highly valued. Residency is not required.
