The City of Union City understands the importance of investing in our community’s youth and preparing them on their journey to success. Our 2024 Summer Internship Program is designed to help you meet your educational and career planning goals. It will enhance your skills, encourage your pursuit of excellence, and challenge you to further the cause of public service. We are focused on developing future professionals who will make a positive difference in the lives of others and inspire them to think about how they too might contribute to their community. The enthusiasm and dedication we have placed into making your internship experience a rewarding one is a manifestation of our desire to stand as a partner in your success. QualificationsHigh school and college students must reside in/or near Union City and be nominated by a school official (administrator, counselor, or teacher).
Prospective interns must have a GPA above 3.0 and should be able to express their career desires, follow-up on assignments, be open to new ideas and suggestions, and be committed to completing the internship in its entirety.
Submitting an ApplicationHigh school candidates should submit their applications to their school counselor. College students should submit their application and unofficial transcript to The City’s Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Department will obtain the applications and make recommendations to the Internship Review Committee for interviews.
