Job duties of the Heating & Air Conditioning Technician II (HVAC Tech) include the following:
Assists in the maintenance and repair of the heating and air conditioning equipment in the Virginia Beach Convention Center, assists in the troubleshooting and repairing control systems and mechanical equipment, replacing compressors and fan motors, cleaning of condensers and evaporator coils etc. Maintains records in a clear and concise manner (fills out work orders and daily log sheets).Provides customer service to facility users and guests.Must be able to read, write and understand facility floor plans and event documents. Must be able to carry and move objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds. Must possess exceptional customer service skills.Must be able to work adjusted schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the schedule of events. Knowledge of how to work on pumps and ice machines.Knowledge of maintaining and repairing HVAC equipment.Knowledge of maintaining and repairing gas fired boilers, oil fired boilers.Knowledge of centrifugal chillers Skill in the use of refrigeration service tools such as refrigeration gauges, vacuum pumps, etc.Experience using personal computer including Microsoft Office Suite applications, email, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and a computerized building control system.Experience in maintenance and operation of a centralized HVAC system in a facility 200,000 square feet or greater.
