Lead Process Controls Engineer
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Cleveland-Cliffs, Mansfield Works operation has an immediate opening for a Lead Process Controls Engineer. The Lead Process Controls Engineer supervises and directs all process control engineer’s activities, capital improvement projects, major maintenance projects and product development support. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader and communicator with decision making and planning skills.
Summary Of Responsibilities
Provides engineering services and expertise in supervisory control systems (PLC, PC based applications, databases, business systems and other devices)Direct the management of capital project activitiesAssign and direct company and contract personnelFunction as Project Manager for large capital projectsResponsible for checking that plant equipment is maintained correctlyAble to work extended hours to support operations occasionally during and outside maintenance outagesOther duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Engineering10 – 15 years work experience in engineering and maintenance in an industrial environmentExperience with current programming languagesKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeExcellent leadership, communication, decision making and planning skills
Preferred Qualifications
5 years plus experience in engineering, maintenance, or project managementExperience in steelmaking facilityExperience in a union environment
