Plant Operations & Maintenance Technician

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Technician. This is the entry-level job posting for United Taconite located in Eveleth and Forbes, Minnesota. Summary Of Responsibilities

This position operates various ore processing and pelletizing equipment, such as crushers, filters, grinding mill areas, balling drum areas, furnace/kiln equipment.Performs light maintenance on the equipment being operated.People hired to fill this position will also have an opportunity to bid on any bargaining unit openings (including mining equipment operators) that develop.This position involves a variety of operating areas; incumbents are expected to become trained in all areas over time for maximum flexibility in assignments.These positions work a rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts to provide 24/7 coverage for the facility.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years post-secondary with 2 years’ experience; or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

Mining specific experienceIndustrial and/or plant experienceMobile and/or heavy equipment operating experience

Successful candidates will need to pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen; background check, and other pre-employment testing.
