Job Description

The Driver Shuttle RIF is a non touch freight position and is responsible for pulling finished goods from the production plant and raw materials from the warehouse to the plant.

What Your Day Will Look Like

Ensure all loads are picked up from the plant as they are loaded with no delaysResponsible that all trailers are always in place for both the plant and the warehouse for successful startups and shutdownsResponsible for all deliveries for finished goods and raw materials are on timeEnsure all paperwork and bills of lading are filled out correctly before pulling the loadsEnsure all loads either going in or out of the plant are sealedFills out and maintains daily inspection sheet for our shuttle tractors/trailers and notifies ServiceDepartment, Supervisors, and or the Facility Manager of any problemsWorks in a productive manner with peers, management, and the customer to achieve facility productivity goals (12-14 loads pulled per shift, per driver)Reports lack of work and or any production issues immediately to the supervisor and understands they will be expected to work in the warehouse as needed to maintain productivity for both the shuttle and warehouseOccasional Over the Road driving

What You Need To Succeed

Minimum age of 21 years oldClass A Commercial Driver’s License required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policyPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policiesRegular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the jobAbility to read, write and speak EnglishAbility to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelinesAbility to maintain safety and security of Company assetsAbility to utilize all Company provided resources and technologyHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 6+ months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to work safely and securelyAbility to receive and follow instructionsAbility to demonstrate teamwork, problem solving, interpersonal, and analytical skillsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to use dolly up and down 50 times per shiftAbility to enter and exit cab of tractor an average of 100 times dailyFrequent sitting, standing, walking, and typing and frequent exposure to water, chemicals, and noiseWillingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
