📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Purpose and Scope
The Director of Nursing is a Registered Professional Nurse who has clinical and administrative responsibility for the management of the Surgical Center in which Nursing care is directly and/or indirectly provided. The Director of Nursing services shall be responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of nursing services provided to patients
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.Perioperative and/or Post anesthesia nursing experience required. Demonstrated supervisory and administrative experience required. Ambulatory Surgery experience required.
Special Skills/Licensure/Certifications
Current State of New jersey LicensureBSN Preferred and/or comparable experienceBCLS, ACSL, PALS as appropriate for patient population servedCurrent IV certification from an approved facility is preferred.Evidence of continuing education is preferred.AORN or other nursing organization participation is required.Certifications (such as CNOR, CPAN, etc.) are encouraged.Languages skills: ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.Additional languages are desirable
