Intern, Manufacturing Engineering

Job Description

We are seeking college summer interns to work at our East Granby CT location for twelve-week assignments / projects. As a Manufacturing Plant Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will be exposed to various aspects of plant operations, including production processes and especially continuous improvement initiatives including:

Participate in Continuous Improvement ProjectsWork with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savingsAssist in implementing lean manufacturing principles, implement these improvements hands on, and participate in Kaizen events to drive operational efficiencyDocument improvements made to our Work InstructionsComplete Assigned ProjectsUndertake specific projects or assignments related to plant operations, such as process optimization, data analysis, or documentation improvementPresent findings and recommendations to management upon completion of the projectUse an industry-standard root cause analysis tools (we will train on that) such as A3 Method and Ishikawa Diagram

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field.Strong interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing or operations.Basic understanding of manufacturing principles and processes is preferred.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.Ability to follow instructions, take initiative, and manage time effectively.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a plus.
