Plumber/Pipefitter Mechanic

We are hiring experienced commercial Plumber and Pipefitter Mechanics to join our large construction team in the Richmond area. Our Plumber Mechanics and Pipefitters will layout, fabricate, assemble, and install plumbing and piping systems on large commercial and industrial construction projects. Typical construction projects include hospitals, data centers, high-rises, universities, secondary schools, and government facilities.What you will do:Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, maintains piping and piping systems, fittings, fixtures of heating, /water/ drainage systems, piping, piping systems, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systemsCut pipe using pipe cutters, port-a-band saw, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machineThread pipe, using a threading machineJoin piping using welded, grooved, threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented jointsTest piping systems for leaksMaintain a clean and safe work areaWorks safely, encourage others to do so, and complies with applicable health and safety-related rules, regulations, and proceduresPerform other duties as directed by job site supervisorPipefitter:Assembles and installs variety of metal and nonmetal pipe and pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, and plasticInstalls and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and pipingMay weld holding fixtures to structural steel membersWhat we are looking for:Work experience as a Plumber Mechanic or Pipefitter for commercial construction projects. (Journeyman level experience is preferred, but not required)Experience with layouts and ability to read and work from drawingsAbility to direct and support the work of a helper or apprenticeSafety-minded and knowledge of OSHA safety regulationsInitiative; self-motivated, self-starterKnowledge of basic construction/shop mathKnowledge of International Plumbing Code (IPC)Positive attitude and willing to work in a team environmentAbility to work without direct supervisionA reliable source of transportation to and from workWho we are:We are focused on our people, our culture and our business.
