About the ControllerWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial excellence and accuracy while supporting the organization's mission to invite all people to take one step closer to Jesus from wherever they are.

ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of the accounting cycle, ensuring timely and accurate financial recordsPrepare monthly reconciliations, variance analyses, and budget reports for management and the board of directorsMaintain and improve upon internal processes and controlsEnsure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulationsLead and coordinate the annual external audit processManage grant accounting and ensure compliance with donor restrictionsProcess accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collectionsManage payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely employee compensationStay up-to-date on non-profit accounting trends and best practicesAssist with the budgeting and forecasting process

What You BringThe following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate:

Education & Experience5+ years of experience (Experience working in a start-up environment is preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHighly organized and detail-oriented accounting professionalStrong understanding of non-profit accounting principles, GAAP, and tax regulationsSkilled at managing the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledgerExcellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure financial accuracy and reportingProficient in accounting softwareAble to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of efficiency and accuracyAble to work effectively with the Finance team and other departments
