Description
Barren River Lake State Resort Park is a water-lovers paradise surrounded by forested, rolling hills and desires to hire a Food Service Ops Mgr II to supervise and manage the Driftwood Restaurant and the Highlands Pub.
The resort is located near Kentucky’s famous cave area, which includes Mammoth Cave National Park, the longest cave system in the world!
The Driftwood Restaurant at Barren River Lake State Resort Park offers a variety and wide range of foods in a warm and cozy setting for the dining room guest as well as groups for meetings and meals. The Driftwood Restaurant and Highlands Pub has a beautiful view that overlooks the Barren River Lake.
The setting is idea for a group or a family outing for sharing a sandwich or a full-size gourmet meal. Great for fantastic meal or just discussion and relaxing for a meal. Great for sharing a mixed drink and snacks while watching your favorite sports event.
We are currently seeking a Food Service Ops Mgr II who is an individual that can take charge and oversee the Driftwood Restaurant Dining Room, Kitchen, and the Highlands Pub.
The Food Service Ops Mgr II would manage all restaurant and pub employees, the inventory, complete scheduling, evaluate employees, set cleaning schedules, ensure proper opening and closing procedures, ordering, planning menus, plan promotions, training, setting holiday events, managing banquets, and working hand in hand with the park chef, dining room supervisor, and park manager in making the Driftwood Restaurant and the Highlands Pub the best that they can be.
We are also looking for someone that can deliver the best customer service possible to our wonderful customers. If you are a team player and enjoy planning, greeting people, and delivering great customer service, then this is a full- time position that might be for you.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree with courses in food preparation, food management or a related area.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of experience in the operation and management of institutional, military or commercial food service operations.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): If employed in the Kentucky Department of Parks or the Kentucky Horse Park, must be twenty years and one day of age at time of appointment. If employed in the Kentucky Department of Parks or the Kentucky Horse Park, must obtain S.T.A.R. (Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of appointment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in a garage or field setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
