The Division of Emergency Management is hiring a Network Technician III position that Provides administrative and complex technical assistance to users of the communications network and provides complex problem determination and resolution related to network equipment or software. Maintains technical knowledge of all network components. Coordinates the work of lead network technicians. Responsible for the scheduling, testing, installation, relocation and maintenance of networked equipment. Monitors hardware support and site preparation functions for the network.
Job duties included but are not limited to the following
Provides support to assigned users and maintains appropriate records and documentation for the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) community to include WebEOC, WebCA and WebPuff software platforms. Configures desktop for CSEPP, SEOC and division staff use. Assures all systems have appropriate up-to-date configurations, security software and licensing. Assists in configuration and support of divison's local area network and server network, including wired and wireless configurations. Maintains records of network devices, data infrastructure and network capabilities. Replaces defective hardware and tests newly installed hardware and software for the 10 CSEPP counties and the division. Ensures critical systems are functional and running at all times. Ensures SEOC and state warning point systems (network, printers, desktops, laptops, monitors, audio visual) are tested monthly and working. Assists in management of CSEPP and the division's cloud-based systems and email services including Microsoft Office.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of network support experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis. A master's degree in computer science will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in computer programming, network services, systems support, or production support will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis.

Work is typically performed in an office setting.
