Primary Role: Perform beginning level duties in providing supervision and instruction to students at the Kentucky School for the Deaf.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise students in the dorm to maintain accountability for student’s whereabouts, safety and welfare. Escort and supervise students to cafeteria, recreational activities and school sponsored events. Provide tutoring and homework assistance to students with varying learning styles, abilities and motivational levels. Plan outings and educational programs to reinforce life skills and ASL/English mastery. Supervise athletic practices, games and other school functions as needed. Perform other duties as assigned
This is a second shift position and will be paid a 10% shift differential for second shift hours.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
American Sign Language (ASL) skills.

EDUCATION: High School Graduate

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an instructional/counseling setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
