THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As part of this role, your main responsibilities will include answering calls using Bureau of Community Health System (BCHS), and Department of Health (DOH) policies and procedures, as well as utilizing your knowledge of agency, local government, community, and commonwealth programs to provide information and referral on DOH programs to the general public. You will also be responsible for logging calls to the health database to track health program activities. Another important aspect of your role will be referring calls to other agencies when necessary and providing appropriate referrals to community resources to address the specific needs of the client. Additionally, you will provide clerical support to professional staff involved in developing, coordinating, and delivering educational programs aimed at increasing community and professional awareness of public health issues. This may include assisting with health fairs, clinics, and disease/animal bite investigations. You will also provide clerical support for clinics and assigned clinical services, ensuring that DOH procedures are followed to maintain a customer-oriented clinic environment. This will involve communicating, running, and documenting the clinic activities as required by program staff. Lastly, you will be responsible for providing clerical coverage to State Health Centers as assigned, ensuring that there is adequate clerical support available.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.
Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
